Hi there! I’m a Lower Mainland–based broadcast journalist with experience on both sides of the camera, combining a strong on-air presence with technical production skill. As a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, I received hands-on training from industry professionals who emphasized accuracy, adaptability and deadline management.
That education helped prepare me to work confidently in fast-paced newsroom environments, whether I’m reporting live, anchoring, shooting, editing or producing digital content. I’m confident with industry-standard cameras, audio equipment, editing software and newsroom systems, which will allow me to move seamlessly from the classroom to the newsroom.
I’m especially passionate about sports and community-driven stories — the moments that bring people together and reflect the character of a town. Whether it’s covering a big game or highlighting a local issue, I’m driven to tell stories that are clear, compelling, and rooted in the people they impact most.
The Spit Sports Show
For just over three years, I’ve hosted and produced my own podcast, The Spit Sports Show. What started with a phone camera, a microphone and a laptop has grown into a channel with more than 450 subscribers and over 40,000 total views — grown self sufficiently through consistent content.
Creating the show has allowed me to develop far beyond on-camera performance. I research and script each episode, break down games, and deliver informed analysis on widely discussed sports topics while finding angles that feel fresh and original. Producing the podcast has strengthened my critical thinking skills, sharpened my ability to communicate ideas, and taught me how to create content that is able to stick in a crowded digital algorithm.
From booking guests to editing episodes and promoting content across platforms, the show has given me hands-on experience in every stage of production. It’s been an invaluable creative outlet and a space where I’ve been able to refine my voice as a sports journalist.
Game Direction/ Team Reporting
As a member of the Langley Trappers for the past two years, I’ve gained extensive experience in the production of live sporting events. Working in a fast-paced Junior A environment has sharpened both my technical skills and my ability to think quickly under pressure, where timing and coordination are of the highest importance.
In my role as team reporter, I film live-to-tape pregame reports before every home contest, helping set the stage for fans and players by highlighting key storylines, matchups and player developments. The position requires strong preparation, clear delivery and the ability to translate hockey strategy into accessible, engaging content. I also help run postgame press conferences for the team, an experience that has strengthened my interviewing skills and taught me how to navigate conversations with interviewees who may be riding the emotions of wins and losses.
During games, I operate the broadcast booth and TriCaster system, working closely with camera operators, the public address announcer and commentary team to ensure a smooth, cohesive production. Managing live switching, coordinating replays and maintaining clear communication across the crew has given me an appreciation of the teamwork required behind the scenes to put together a live production. Being part of a live sports broadcast has reinforced my ability to stay composed, adaptable and detail-oriented.
